What To Bring

Summer weather in Haida Gwaii can be unpredictable so it best to come prepared for anything. We suggest base layers of fleece or synthetic wool and a pair of heavy socks to wear under your rain gear and boots. All rain gear, boots and Floater coats are provided to keep you warm and dry when fishing so there is no need to bring these items from home. A pair of light gloves and warm hat or toque is a good idea for those brisk mornings. A good pair of sunglasses and sunscreen is highly recommended, even on overcast days it is easy to get sun burned with the glare off the water. A light wind breaker jacket and comfortable footwear are a good idea for around the lodge and walking the beach.
Don’t forget to pack your camera, a good digital camera is a must and extra memory cards are a good idea as well. This is the land of endless photo opportunities. Our customers constantly remark on how they wished they had taken more pictures of their trip, so make sure to use it!
It is also a good idea to pack any medications and toiletries in your carry on bag when you fly to Sandspit in the case of delayed or stolen luggage.
Sea sickness or Anti-Nausea pills and patches should be purchased before getting here if you are prone to motion sickness.
Driver’s License or Passport for proof of ID should you have to present your fishing license to the Authorities.
